“I’m fanatical about not wanting my clients to pay one more dollar in taxes than they are legally obligated to pay,” Mr. Wilkin says. “That means we look for every deduction possible, and we structure businesses and transactions to take maximum advantage of the benefits that are available under the tax laws.” |
A graduate of the

at Champaign-Urbana (with honors), Mr. Wilkin went on to obtain his Master of Science in Taxation degree from

. He brings over 15 years of practical experience to bear for his clients. Prior to starting his own accounting practice, Mr. Wilkin worked for some of the largest accounting firms in the world, as well as smaller local firms. And, for his clients, that experience pays off.
“Over the years, I have worked with just about every type of client imaginable, from mom-and-pop businesses to billion dollar companies, from individuals who are flat broke to people who earn millions of dollars per year,” says Mr. Wilkin. “I’ve worked with startups, not-for-profits, corporations, partnerships, LLCs, you name it. Having such a breadth and depth of experience has allowed me to learn what works and what doesn’t work in many different situations. Not only can I advise my clients about actions and strategies that will work to their benefit, I can also help my clients avoid the pitfalls I have seen others go through.”
Mr. Wilkin focuses his practice on individuals, small businesses, entrepreneurs and small business owners. He believes that maximizing how much you get to keep doesn’t depend simply on good tax strategies; it involves making sound business decisions and sound personal financial decisions as well. “One of the things I tell my clients is not to spend or invest any money until they talk to me. Chances are, I know someone who can provide them with exceptional products or service at a great value.” In fact, Mr. Wilkin is a member of Business Networks International, a group dedicated to providing just that. |
